About the role
- Lead the design and development of complex pricing solutions, encompassing various pricing models, data sources, and integration points across McKesson's diverse business units
- Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for pricing systems, ensuring consistency, maintainability, and reusability
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to translate business requirements into robust and scalable technical architectures
- Conduct architectural reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior architects and developers on pricing system design and implementation
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the performance, efficiency, and capabilities of McKesson's pricing platforms
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and technical roadmaps for pricing initiatives
- Identify and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring the security, compliance, and operational stability of all pricing-related IT solutions
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape in pricing and revenue management solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 5 years focused on pricing, revenue management, or related financial systems
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing large-scale, complex enterprise-level pricing solutions
- Deep understanding of various pricing strategies, models (e.g., cost-plus, value-based, dynamic), and their technical implementations
- Strong experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and architectural patterns
- Proficiency in cloud-native architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices-based design
- Extensive experience with various integration patterns and technologies (e.g., APIs, ESBs, message queues)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
