About the role
- The Program Communications Coordinator will manage internal and external communications for the School Oral Health Program (SOHP) to support outreach, education, and stakeholder engagement.
- Essential duties include: developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive communications plan.
- Creating, editing, and distributing program materials including flyers, newsletters, reports, presentations, and website updates.
- Coordinating outreach campaigns and events to raise awareness of SOHP services among schools, families, community partners, and the public.
- Serving as the primary contact for program-related communications, responding to inquiries from schools, partners, and media as appropriate.
- Collaborating with program staff to gather stories, photos, data, and updates that highlight program impact.
- Ensuring all communications are consistent with SOHP’s mission, brand standards, and contractual obligations.
- Tracking engagement metrics and preparing communications performance reports for program leadership.
- Maintaining an organized library of communication resources, templates, and program media assets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communication or public health-related field is preferred; however, equivalent related work experience may be considered.
- Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills and cultural awareness are essential.
- Detailed knowledge of all current Microsoft Office software programs as well as any other software programs necessary to perform the job.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple schedules, data, and communications are essential.
