About the role
- Guide planning and designing capabilities to maximize the value of IT and enable high impact, long-term decisions
- Create architecture strategies, blueprints and road maps that standardize technology stacks and enable engineering speed and agility
- Leverage data science, data analytics, cloud and APIs to drive innovative solutions
- Work with Wealth Management delivery teams, engineers, application operations, product managers, and enterprise stakeholders to deliver data-driven systems
- Partner with senior leaders to develop and maintain Technology strategies & roadmap focused on Wealth Management
- Conduct technical evaluations and benchmarking of core application platforms, frameworks and technologies
- Specify and publish standards around application design and software engineering best practices
- Provide thought leadership and participate in conferences and research with strategic partners and academic institutions
- Identify data and process issues with business executives and senior architects and recommend solution options
- Provide recommendations on system options, risks, cost/benefit analysis, and cross-domain impact
- Engage in solution architecture problem solving, snapshots and full architecture documents
- Publish deliverables and utilize multi-media to educate and engage the federated solution architecture community
- Collaborate with extended enterprise architecture, business, and IT support teams to communicate architecture strategies, standards, and direction
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies
- Participate in regular Enterprise Architecture team meetings and one-on-one manager meetings
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related Technical degree
- 8+ years of related IT Solutions Architecture or Technical Lead experience
- 10+ years of related IT Architecture or IT consulting experience (ideal)
- Preferred knowledge of Insurance and Wealth Management
- Experience with technology supporting Financial Planning, Order Management, Lending, Wealth Investment Products
- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and reasoning skills
- Team-focused mentality with proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively influence, collaborate and partner
- Understanding of the impact of IT on business results
- Demonstrated experience using Architecture Methodology (TOGAF, Archimate)
- Experience in Public Cloud platforms (preferably AWS); AWS/Azure Cloud Certification
- Solution design and development using cloud-native services and understanding of cost rationalization
- Strong experience in Architecture and Design patterns
- Developed acumen in Domain Driven Design
- Strong experience with event streaming design and implementation using Kafka
- Experience with web service protocols and patterns like SOAP, REST, JSON, XML/XSDs
- Experience with REST API for data interchange and API-driven systems integration
- Track record of designing architectural reference material
