About the role

  • The Investment Analyst will draw on knowledge of financial models and investment instruments to develop solutions for a fast-paced market-driven environment.
  • Works with portfolio managers, quantitative strategists and subject matter experts to produce, improve and develop reporting and analytic capabilities in Investment Management.
  • Role requires Python, SQL and VBA programming ability.
  • Supports MassMutual’s annuity hedging (VA, FIA and Ascend) and asset-liability management (ALM) teams.
  • The team focuses on researching new ideas and strategies and developing technologies and analytics across MassMutual’s hedging programs.
  • Regular meetings and updates with team and management; participates in a hybrid work model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math or related degree
  • 1+ years of experience with fixed income and derivatives models
  • 1+ years of experience in financial instruments
  • 1+ years of SQL and VBA coding experience
  • Python coding background (preferred)
  • Proclivity for continuous improvement
  • Strong quantitative expertise: statistics, mathematics, and computer systems
  • Strong understanding of asset-liability management in a life insurance company
