About the role

  • The Agile Coach is responsible for driving the adoption and maturity of Agile practices across digital and non-digital business units and cross functional support teams with Mashreq.
  • This role acts as both a strategic enabler and hands-on practitioner, ensuring teams, products owners, leaders, and scrum masters embrace agile ways of working that balance speed, innovation, and compliance in a regulated environment.
  • By embedding structured governance, conducting enterprise agile maturity assessments, and coaching across all levels of the organization, the Agile Coach helps establish a culture of customer-centricity, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Operating as a trusted advisor, the Agile Coach partners with division heads and department heads to ensure agile transformation aligns with the Mashreq’s regulatory obligations, strategic priorities, digital and agile transformation agenda.

Requirements

  • Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, RTEs, and stakeholders in applying Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe principles effectively.
  • Facilitate critical agile events e.g. PI Planning, standups, retrospectives, assessment workshops, and system demos…etc.
  • Benchmark teams against industry and SAFe and Scrum standards, defining target-state roadmaps for uplift and promote collaboration and accountability among cross-functional support and business teams.
  • Design the enterprise-wide agile maturity assessments for both digital studios and business units.
  • Track progress using quantitative metrics (velocity, predictability, lead time, productivity, quality of delivery) and provide qualitative and quantitative feedback.
  • Drive agile practices across both digital transformation programs/tribes (mobile, payments, onboarding…etc.) and non-digital operations (branches, service centers, back-office…etc.).
  • Define and track agile delivery metrics and governance dashboards for transparency.
  • Contribute to the development of an Agile Center of Excellence (CoE) as a hub for best practices and knowledge.
  • Develop internal coaching capability to reduce reliance on external expertise and translate agile practices into business-relevant outcomes for senior executives.
