About the role
- Lead and oversee all accounting operations for Canada and LATAM
- Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
- Review and validate financial statements in compliance with local regulations and corporate standards
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
- Manage and mentor accounting teams across multiple regions
- Coordinate workflows, priorities, and deadlines between Canada and LATAM
- Act as the main point of escalation for accounting-related issues
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and statutory requirements in all regions
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory entities
- Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Partner with Finance, Operations, HR, and Executive teams
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
- Provide insights to leadership for decision-making and business growth
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent is a strong plus)
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management roles
- Proven experience managing accounting teams
- Strong knowledge of multi-country accounting processes
- Experience working with Canada and/or LATAM accounting frameworks
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems / ERPs
- Fluent English and Spanish (mandatory)
