About the role

  • Manages the organization’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental standards and regulations.
  • Leads the development and execution of processes that identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with hazardous materials, waste disposal, and industrial operations while minimizing environmental and community impact.
  • Provides technical guidance, administrative direction, and clear interpretation of regulations and policies issued by federal, state, and other agencies.
  • Oversees regulatory adherence, incident investigations, and employee training initiatives that promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Manage and administer environmental health and safety programs across the organization to ensure adherence to all applicable environmental and occupational safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement processes to identify, evaluate, and mitigate environmental and safety risks related to hazardous materials, waste management, and operational activities.
  • Review environmental incidents and accident reports to determine root causes and establish corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in environmental and safety laws, regulations, and industry standards; update internal policies, procedures, and practices accordingly.
  • Design and deliver training and education programs to increase employee awareness of environmental policies, compliance requirements, and organizational safety standards.
  • Partner with operational and departmental leaders to integrate EHS practices into daily workflows, projects, and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Prepare compliance reports, maintain required documentation, and support internal and external audits to ensure organizational transparency and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health and safety, emergency management, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field.
  • Eight years of progressive experience in environmental health and safety
  • Experience managing EHS programs for multi-site organizations
  • 2-3 years of administrative or operational experience
  • 2-3 years staff management experience
  • Experience developing and managing budgets
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office
  • CSP certification preferred
