About the role
- Leading a team to ensure payroll tax compliance and accuracy
- Drive tracking, accountability, and cross-functional coordination across payroll and multiple system teams
- Monitor work volumes, systems & resources to ensure the teams meet their objectives
- Provide metrics and dashboards of payments allocated, fines paid/mitigated, audits completed, and other key metrics related to employment tax payments
- Coordinate inbound audits from Federal, state or local entities and work with MMC corporate tax team as well as Legal
- Lead, manage and provide coaching / feedback to individuals as well as teams
- Collaborate with internal HR Services departments as well as other Marsh COEs to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of payroll tax experience
- Payroll tax compliance and remittances
- Working directly with tax agencies
- Handling audits
- Proven ability to build or redesign processes
- Strong technical payroll tax knowledge
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) strongly preferred but not required
- Experience evaluating and implementing controls
- Background in environments where processes were immature or evolving
- Experience managing domestic and offshore teams
