Manage, optimize, and ensure the high availability of PostgreSQL databases hosted on Linux and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure)
Lead complex database migration projects from Oracle to PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and high-availability configurations
Implement advanced PostgreSQL features such as partitioning, indexing strategies, query tuning, and replication to optimize performance at scale
Oversee configuration and management of cloud-based PostgreSQL offerings and maintain disaster recovery solutions with RTO & RPO considerations
Utilize PostgreSQL extensions (e.g., PostGIS, pg_partman, pg_stat_statements) and support Oracle DB features like RMAN, Export/Import, and Triggers
Contribute to automation initiatives by researching and presenting new technologies to enhance database strategy and operations

Requirements

5+ years of PostgreSQL database experience, including at least 3 years working in cloud environments
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience migrating Oracle databases to PostgreSQL
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
Extensive experience as a Senior PostgreSQL/Oracle Database Engineer, with a strong focus on migrating Oracle databases to PostgreSQL
Solid knowledge of relational database management systems and cloud computing architecture
Skilled in database design, cloud computing, and Data Lake Architecture
