About the role
- Leads strategic and upstream marketing for product portfolios
- Collaborates with Downstream Marketing Teams and stakeholders
- Drives product vision, portfolio strategy, lifecycle management, and new product initiatives
- Manages financial forecasting, staffing, and budgeting
- Ensures alignment with corporate growth objectives
- Hires, manages, and develops an effective upstream portfolio team
- Defines performance metrics for timely product delivery
- Establishes product vision, strategy, and roadmap, specifying market requirements
- Provides leadership and resources to team members for portfolio growth
- Engages with Key Opinion Leaders and builds surgeon networks for VOC input
- Aligns Acumed’s strategic goals with market trends
- Guides Portfolio Managers in developing strategic plans and identifying obsolescence opportunities
- Oversees global market analysis, advising on trends for new products
- Captures field feedback on products to inform portfolio needs
- Recruits, develops, and manages Portfolio Managers
Requirements
- BA/BS in product management, marketing, or related field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years in product management/sales, with leadership experience
- 3-5 years in medical device sales/marketing, preferably orthopedics
- Experience in marketing strategy and portfolio management
- Proven record of leading successful projects and initiatives
- Experience managing cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Proficiency in market research and data analysis
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience with product lifecycle management
- Excellent coaching, communication, and persuasive skills
- Demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking
- Experience with financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
- Strong executive presence and engagement skills
- Ability to mentor and guide team members effectively
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Role model leader with credibility and rapport-building skills
- Understanding of global healthcare policies and compliance issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
