About the role
- Directs effective and efficient operational and general ledger month-end close process
- Preparation of accurate monthly/quarterly/annual consolidated financial statements
- Ensures financial results are accurately stated in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Develops and implements strong internal controls around accounting
- Manages accounting processes (closing the books, journal entries, ERP close, etc.)
- Collaborates with shared services team for payments and proper recording of liabilities
- Coordinates with internal auditors for all audit requirements
- Ensures adequate controls are established and followed
- Supports and reviews data for preparation of corporate tax returns
- Partners with IT to facilitate efficient use of ERP system
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Passed CPA exam
- 10+ years of experience in a leadership role focused on manufacturing industry
- At least 3 years’ experience in public accounting
- Prior leadership experience managing and mentoring cross-functional teams
- Proven knowledge of accounting, reserves, cost control, internal controls, and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Strong understanding of cost accounting for manufactured products
- Prior experience supervising or managing transactional accounting teams preferred
- Effective communication skills that adapt to the audience
- Ability to organize, problem solve, and proactively plan
- Ability to research and analyze financial data
- Experienced user of SAP
- Experience dealing with audits (internal, external, regulatory, sales & use tax)
