About the role
- Lead sales, marketing and editorial activities across all group platforms
- Lead the deployment of new technology to streamline operations
- Oversee the company’s core business functions—sales, marketing and editorial—to drive revenue growth, brand strength and organizational alignment
- Unify teams, optimize performance, and help position The Marlin Group as the definitive authority in big-game fishing media
- Lead the full integration of InTheBite into The Marlin Group ecosystem, including brand alignment, sales coordination and audience development
- Take the lead on the deployment of a new CRM system and development of AI solutions to increase sales, marketing and editorial efficiency
- Track progress against strategic initiatives and adjust execution as needed
- Financial P&L responsibility for media operations
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of sales, marketing and editorial functions
- Align cross-functional team members around shared business goals, KPIs and performance standards
- Establish operating rhythms, reporting structures and accountability frameworks
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
- Own achievement of company revenue targets across advertising, partnerships, events and emerging products
- Work closely with publishers and sales teams to develop and execute revenue strategies
- Identify new revenue opportunities, including digital products, sponsorships and experiential offerings
- Monitor pipeline health, pricing strategy and yield optimization
- Strengthen The Marlin Group’s position as a leading voice in the global big-game fishing community
- Ensure brand consistency and excellence across all platforms and touchpoints
- Partner with editorial leadership to maintain best-in-class content that drives audience growth and engagement
- Represent the company at industry events, tournaments and key partner meetings
- Directly manage senior leaders including Editor-in-Chief, Publishers, Sales Representatives, and Marketing Director
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and results
- Recruit, develop and retain top talent across all functions
- Establish clear goals, feedback loops and professional development pathways
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in marine media, outdoor media, or a closely related industry
- Demonstrated experience managing both editorial/content and revenue-generating functions
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving or exceeding targets
- Strong understanding of media business models, including digital, print, events and sponsorships
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and senior-level operators
- Deep familiarity with the big-game fishing community strongly preferred
