About the role

  • Provide expert-level support for Epic Inpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) surgical and anesthesia applications/modules
  • Collaborate with counterparts from other applications to meet development and implementation objectives for assigned Epic applications
  • Serve as project lead and mentor for key initiatives; perform project management duties as assigned
  • Understand and document current clinical workflows and propose optimized future workflows
  • Present recommended system enhancements and build prototypes of application configuration options
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and configuration updates to Epic applications
  • Create test scripts, timelines, and plans; perform testing across applications and coordinate user testing
  • Provide tier-two support to end-users remotely and in-person; monitor, investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incoming tickets; liaise with vendors and coordinate fixes
  • Coordinate deployment of application changes with training and operations teams
  • Mentor and coach associate and intermediate analysts
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven ability to work independently and successfully execute multiple assignments simultaneously in a complex environment
  • Advanced critical and analytical thinking proficiencies
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and follow-up skills
  • Demonstrated advanced troubleshooting competencies
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree is required (Four (4) years of additional comparable experience may be substituted for a degree)
  • A minimum of five (5) years of directly related Epic experience including in-depth knowledge of software development/build lifecycles
  • OpTime and/or Anesthesia experience
  • Epic OpTime / Anesthesia certification preferred
