About the role

  • Establish relationships with HR Partners, business leaders, and employees to ensure our benefits delivery and operations meets employee needs.
  • Function as the subject matter expert on benefit programs; resolve benefits issues, escalations and close them in a timely manner.
  • Effectively manage multiple, complex projects and deadlines, with internal and external parties.
  • Resolve complex issues including identifying the issues, performing a thorough investigation to identify root cause, conducting impact analysis, and evaluating resolution options.
  • Build effective vendor management activities including service improvement opportunities, member satisfaction results, and monitoring service-related performance results.
  • Actively participate in Annual Enrollment preparation and user acceptance testing to ensure system accuracy.
  • Document lessons learned, conduct AE debrief meetings, and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in and/or conduct benefit training for partner teams and external vendors.
  • Execute audit schedule and manage audit progress and results with major vendor partners.
  • Partner with technical teams and payroll to ensure the accuracy of employee data and functionality of electronic data interfaces with partners.
  • Monitor and understand federal and state regulation changes impacting benefit administration processes.
  • Prepare, monitor and/or manage all ERISA, CMS, ACA and/or state-related filings in a timely manner and assure Plan compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent working experience
  • Minimum 6 years’ benefits program management experience required.
  • Excellent project management skills with proven ability to design workable solutions, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and drive projects to successful implementation.
  • Deep analytical skills, comfortable working with and communicating substantial amounts of data findings, experience establishing and tracking program metrics.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy through ambiguous circumstances.
  • Strong business judgment and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done.
  • Successful record of building operational processes and procedures with a focus on continuously improving programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organization and influence business leaders.
  • Proficient in Excel, including advanced skills like pivot tables, vlookup, setting formulas, and shortcuts.
  • Previous experience with HRIS/Payroll systems; Workday, ADP Payroll, and Alight experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ADA, COBRA, FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, and other benefits-related legislation.
  • Strong knowledge of health and welfare benefit programs including healthcare, life, disability, time away, vacation, sick, and well-being benefits.
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality in maintaining integrity internally and externally with HR data.
  • Must be able to work PST zone.
