About the role

  • Monitor and interpret regulatory and market developments in Germany and Europe, including spot, forward, and ancillary service markets; deliver Policy Interpretation & Impact Analysis Reports.
  • Analyze power supply–demand dynamics, price volatility, renewable generation patterns, and relevant inputs (weather, load forecasts, clearing results) to identify trading opportunities.
  • Research and benchmark innovative energy storage commercialization models (e.g. aggregation/VPP, capacity leasing, green power linkage).
  • Develop annual and quarterly medium- and long-term trading strategies, as well as day-ahead and intraday spot trading approaches, aligned with asset characteristics and risk thresholds.
  • Design and maintain energy storage revenue and risk models, using Python, BI tools, or equivalent analytical platforms.
  • Support internal teams with spot market declarations, ancillary service bidding, and dynamic strategy adjustments in response to market changes.
  • Manage transaction data end-to-end and deliver monthly and annual trading performance reports.
  • Organize transaction reviews, benchmarking analyses, and optimization initiatives.
  • Provide input to forecasting and algorithm teams to improve price and load prediction accuracy.
  • Deliver targeted training and contribute to internal SOPs, strategy templates, and knowledge documentation.
  • Maintain professional collaboration with key market stakeholders (e.g. power exchanges, TSOs/DSOs, aggregators, project owners) and support contract execution where required.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Economics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in the power and energy sector, including 3+ years in energy storage and/or renewable power trading.
  • Strong knowledge of German and/or European electricity markets (spot, forward, ancillary services).
  • Advanced analytical and modeling skills; proficiency in Python and/or BI tools required.
  • International power market experience is a plus.
