About the role
- Administer and oversee the day-to-day operations of employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and claims resolution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits-related inquiries, providing clear guidance and support on plan provisions, eligibility, and coverage options.
- Collaborate with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party vendors to resolve benefits issues and ensure accurate plan administration.
- Assist with annual open enrollment processes, including preparing communication materials, testing, processing employee selections, etc.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee benefits records in HRIS and vendor partner systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local benefits regulations, such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and FMLA.
- Prepare and distribute required notices, reports, and documentation to employees and government agencies as needed.
- Assist with benefits-related audits and participate in the development and revision of benefits policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in leave administration preferred
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
