About the role
- Actively prospect and grow our network of financial advisors using a consultative sales approach to position PICTON’s alternative investment strategies, including hedge funds, liquid alternatives and long/short equity portfolios
- Support your assigned external wholesaler by collaborating closely, sharing innovative ideas and implementing strategic sales initiatives to deepen advisor engagement and increase assets under management (AUM)
- Help develop territory business plans by identifying new business opportunities through IIROC and CIFA channels (or equivalent regulatory/distribution channels)
- Consistently meet and exceed activity targets, including outbound calls, emails, virtual meetings and advisor appointments to advance the sales pipeline
- Provide responsive and proactive service to advisors and existing clients, ensuring high-quality follow-up and coordination with the external wholesaler
- Maintain a strong technical understanding of investment products, including mutual funds, hedge funds, ETFs and other portfolio solutions aligned with PICTON’s offerings
- Accurately record and track all advisor interactions and pipeline activities in the CRM (Salesforce) using detailed, actionable notes
- Organize and maintain advisor contact records, territory opportunity files and performance metrics
- Actively participate in team meetings and business strategy sessions, contributing ideas and collaborating on the implementation of best practices
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field
- Must currently hold the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) designation or be actively pursuing it and obtain it within the first year of employment
- Additional designations such as CIM, CFA (Level I or higher) or CFP are considered strong assets
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a sales, client service or business development role within financial services, investment management or wealth management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for building and maintaining advisor relationships
- Bilingual in French and English required
- Self-starter with initiative, persistence and a desire to build a long-term career in investment product distribution
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks and outreach activities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)
- Availability and ability to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences or training
