About the role
- Provide controls engineering support to all plant departments.
- Troubleshoot production issues; assist &/with direct maintenance controls/electrical/electronic issues on the manufacturing floor related to serial production.
- Ensure equipment is performing effectively and efficiently.
- Assist in performance and optimization of preventative maintenance.
- Analyze equipment operating data to ensure equipment is operating as close to design parameters as possible.
- Consults at a technical level with maintenance craft workers regarding equipment or work-related problems.
- Participate in MAHLE Production Systems (MPS) activities in manufacturing areas (Kaizen events, cleaning boards, OEE, etc.)
- Support, manage and control Facility Engineering projects/duties.
- Provide technical assistance and resolution when manufacturing/electrical/electronic problems are encountered before, during and after installation of new equipment or new construction.
- Create complete and accurate process documentation and manufacturing instructions.
- Prepare clear & concise technical/non-technical material (reports, presentations, etc.)
- Effectively interact with Product, Process, Safety and Environmental department personnel as necessary.
- Effectively work with people at all levels & within cross-functional team environments to identify problems and provide solutions.
- Research and implement improvements in the cost, quality or delivery of our products.
- Reviews approved electrical engineering criteria for new or proposed projects.
- Coordinates electrical engineering projects for the facility, including electrical codes and regulations.
- Supports and/or installs PLC and PC software applications, e.g., PLC / HMI, PC software, VFD controls, etc.).
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley & Siemens components, applications, controls & communication protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited 4-year college or university
- 3-7 years of engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Automotive preferred
- Experience with lean manufacturing techniques including JIT, OEE, line sequencing, KANBAN, etc.
- Experienced as a leader of cost focused solutions to manufacturing issues.
