As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and talented Junior Program Analyst to join our growing team.
  • Responsibilities: Serve as IOCM GIS Data Outreach Coordinator/GIS Specialist; Maintain the US Mapping Coordination website and geodatabase; Maintain groups and data/services in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS REST Server, allowing for data coordination and review by multiple agencies such as USGS, USDA, FEMA, EPA, and USACE and ensuring consistency in mapping surveys
  • Initiate, coordinate, and develop regional spatial priorities studies using ArcGIS web applications
  • Analyze, present, and facilitate discussions on U.S. ocean and Great Lakes mapping priorities and data acquisition activities to government and non-government stakeholder groups, allowing for multi-partner, collaborative activities
  • Write technical reports and create map figures

Requirements

  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Run geospatial studies, manage GIS data layers and associated databases, apply cartography, and analyze spatial information to detect patterns and trends for clients that include NOAA's National Ocean Service
  • 3+ years in GIS, Computer Mapping, and/or Charting fields
  • Must be proficient in ArcGIS Pro, AGOL
  • Experience with maintaining organized geodatabases and hosted web feature services
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, interpersonal, and communication skills as this position works with numerous NOAA stakeholders in many forums
  • Knowledge of different types of remote sensing data and working with the government sector is beneficial
