About the role
- Documentation Ownership: Act as the "Product Owner" for all documentation related to assigned hardware and software, ensuring accuracy, relevancy, and completeness across the product lifecycle.
- Cross-Functional Investigation: Proactively attend sprint reviews, demos, and stakeholder meetings to identify upcoming releases and documentation gaps before they impact the user.
- Content Creation: Design and develop high-quality technical content within a CCMS (Paligo), delivering clear, structured information for both internal and external LMS platforms.
- API & Hardware Documentation: Manage complex API documentation and hardware-specific guides, collaborating with engineering and fabrication teams to translate technical specs into digestible content.
- Quality Advocacy: Champion the end-user experience by challenging internal definitions of "minor releases" to ensure customers always have the context they need for success.
- Strategic Alignment: Regularly track and report on personal metrics and goals to ensure all documentation efforts directly support LVT’s quarterly and yearly corporate initiatives.
- Collaborative Input: Provide subject matter expertise to broader Learning & Enablement projects, such as live webinars and instructional design, to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Stakeholder Management: Conduct interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and product owners to extract deep technical knowledge and transform it into official company resources.
Requirements
- Proven Technical Writing Experience: You have a strong track record as a technical writer in a fast-paced software or hardware environment, supported by a demonstrable portfolio of work.
- CCMS Proficiency: You possess intermediate to advanced experience with structured authoring tools such as Paligo, Arbortext, Madcap Flare, or Xyleme.
- Adoption Platform Expertise: You have experience producing content for product adoption platforms like WalkMe or Pendo.
- Technical Fluency: You are comfortable working with API documentation and have exposure to (or a strong desire to learn) hardware documentation tools like CAD, JBSs, and ECOs.
- Thrives in Ambiguity: You excel in less structured environments where you are responsible for defining your own path and creating your own "SOPs" to achieve the desired outcome.
- Exceptional Communication: You possess the verbal and written skills necessary to manage diverse stakeholders and translate complex technical jargon into clear, actionable language.
- Radical Accountability: You loathe micromanagement because you already set more aggressive goals for yourself than any manager could; you are naturally driven to deliver excellence without external prodding.
- Teachable & Resilient: You view feedback as a tool for growth rather than a personal slight, maintaining a high level of professional maturity and a "team-first" attitude.
- Intellectual Curiosity: You are the person who needs to know how things work—down to the source of the hardware screws—and you don't stop digging until you have the full story.
Benefits
- We invest in our crew’s health, families, and financial futures with a benefits package designed to support you inside and outside the office.
