About the role

  • Act as the main technical point of escalation between Security Operations and the site resources, team leads and practice leads
  • Follow established, documented processes to provide Tier 1 level support for event detection including receipt of security alerts for monitored devices, acknowledgement of the receipt of the event, opening and/or updating service desk tickets to track the handling of events to resolution and closure, assignment of the ticket to the appropriate owner
  • Follow an established process for the purpose of collecting relevant data to perform the necessary level of analysis
  • Follow an established process for transmitting event information to the appropriate point of contact (internal and / or external)
  • Report on reoccurring problems and issues
  • Follow established processes to ensure resolution criteria are met
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills that contribute towards the resolution of issues as they arise
  • Provide additional support related to network administration, server administration, data centre support, etc.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of practical, relevant technical experience in a network operations / systems administration or similar role
  • 1+ years of information security related experience
  • Knowledge of server operations, infrastructure, web interfaces and remote access tools
  • Industry certifications such as MCSE, CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, GREM, CCNA Security, CCNP
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check meeting NERC-CIP compliance standards
  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
  • Experience supporting a Microsoft environment in a service desk or desktop support role
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 2010 / 2013 / O365
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
  • Experience with remote support
  • Experience supporting mobile devices
  • ITIL incident management understanding
  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and/or mobile devices
  • Desire and ability to carry a mobile phone for client and / or for Long View Systems support
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
