About the role
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and client opportunities.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor and analyze expenses; recommend cost-saving measures and support budgeting.
- Develop financial reports to aid strategic decision-making.
- Assist in preparation for external audits and work with auditors to address findings.
- Prepare and review tax returns and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and respond promptly to client inquiries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support business development efforts.
- Provide guidance and review work of junior accountants; foster professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and implement regulatory updates.
- Utilize accounting and collaboration software (QBO, Slack, Google G Suite, Monday.com, Tax Dome, ProConnect, Zoom).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the accounting or tax industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Experience with Slack, Google G Suite, Monday.com, Tax Dome, ProConnect, and Zoom.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
- Tax experience preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Leadership and mentoring experience for junior team members.
