About the role
- Set the strategic vision for localisation and content management, defining best practices that balance quality, speed, and scalability.
- Act as the key communication bridge between internal teams (product, marketing, operations, engineering) and external vendors, ensuring alignment, transparency, and stakeholder buy-in.
- Manage and optimise localisation workflows — from project scoping to delivery — across all content types and languages.
- Oversee translation management systems (we use XTM) and related tools (Rigi) to streamline and improve the localisation process.
- Handle large volumes of data from internal multilingual content systems, reporting on performance, efficiency, and quality metrics.
- Develop and maintain linguistic assets, including glossaries, tone of voice, and style guides across markets.
- Lead and mentor internal and external localisation contributors, ensuring consistent standards and performance.
- Champion process improvement and automation, exploring opportunities for platform integrations and future system enhancements.
- Report regularly on localisation progress, tracking budgets, spend, and quality — providing actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders.
- Drive alignment and advocacy, promoting the value of localisation and content excellence across the organisation.
- Vendor management: oversee relationships with multiple localisation vendors and freelancers, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency; you’ll also have the opportunity to influence vendor selection, performance evaluation, and strategic partnerships as the localisation function evolves.
Requirements
- 10+ years in experience in a localisation management, program, or project leadership role.
- Strong understanding of translation management systems (TMS) — XTM experience highly desirable — and familiarity with Rigi or similar visual localisation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to set strategy and execute — comfortable both leading at the operational level and influencing at the strategic level.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; capable of aligning diverse teams around shared goals.
- Experience handling large-scale multilingual data and maintaining financial oversight (budgets, POs, invoices).
- Deep understanding of localisation best practices, language quality management, and global content workflows.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and autonomy, self-driven, and proactive in defining new approaches.
- Experience with platform integrations and system-level thinking is a plus.
- Fluency in English required; Chinese language skills a strong bonus but not mandatory. ▪ Knowledge and fluency in other languages are always a plus.
Benefits
- You’ll be joining at a pivotal moment with the opportunity to shape the future of global content at Our Company.
- This role combines strategic influence with hands-on execution, giving you the space to innovate, build new frameworks, and leave a tangible mark on how we communicate across the world.
