About the role
- Provide remote Arabic-English interpretation, primarily over-the-phone (OPI).
- Bridge communication gaps while delivering reliable, unbiased, and empathetic interpretation.
- Handle medical interpretation and use medical terminology as required.
- Complete onboarding assessments and evaluations (English proficiency, mock session, medical terminology).
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; sign contractor agreement and adhere to security screening.
- Work remotely from a dedicated home office using required equipment (PC with Windows 10/11, high-speed internet, noise-canceling headphones).
Requirements
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Dedication to courteous, accurate, and professional interpretation services.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Prior Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) experience (bonus).
- Achieve “technical proficiency” rating (level 3 or higher on the ILR scale) on English Proficiency Test.
- Pass mock live interpretation evaluation.
- Pass medical terminology assessment covering medical terms, anatomy, and physiology.
- Background check and security screening.
- Sign an Independent Contractor Agreement and confidentiality commitment (including HIPAA compliance).
- Submit resume and any certifications (EF SET English 50 Min PDF certificate required).
- Dedicated home office space and reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Suitable PC or Laptop with Windows 10 or 11 and noise-canceling headphones.
