About the role
- Facilitate the application of industrial engineering principles to our manufacturing flow, layout, visual management, and overall effectivity of our safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Drive continuous improvement in a standard approach across all Consumable manufacturing departments.
- Design and implement manufacturing processes and systems to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and reduce cost.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Promote integrating manufacturing processes with technology.
- Work with the support team and business stakeholders to translate wants and needs into technical requirements for system improvements.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Work with production teams to identify and resolve process issues.
- Collaborate with quality control to ensure that products meet specifications and standards.
- Develop and implement training programs for production teams on new processes and equipment.
- Work with maintenance to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in manufacturing processes and systems.
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s overall strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; Mechanical Engineering experience strongly preferred.
- For level II Engineer, minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Has working knowledge and experience in own discipline.
- Continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers.
- Performs a range of mainly straightforward assignments.
- Uses prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems.
- Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
- For level III Engineer, minimum 5 years of experience.
- Has in-depth knowledge in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
- May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.
- Works independently; receives minimal guidance.
- For level IV Engineer, minimum 7 years of experience.
- Is recognized as an expert in own area within the organization.
- Has specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline or function.
- May lead functional teams or projects.
- Has accountability for the performance of a team within own discipline or function.
- Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions.
- Interprets internal or external issues and recommends solutions/best practices.
- Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
- Proven ability to apply practical process knowledge with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting, installations, and testing.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles.
- Proficiency in mechanical design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and understanding of automation/robotics integration.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data for process improvement.
- Willingness to work off-shifts periodically to support production trials.
