About the role
- Perform cut & etch on welded parts
- Shim weld tooling
- Understanding blueprint/assembly print reading.
- Building and disassemble weld cells
- Basic Pneumatic skills
- Basic Machining
- MIG welding
- Adjusting sensors (advance and retract based on HMI)
- Touching up 1 to 2 Robot types
- Basic Robot programing
- Reading weld prints
- Basic understanding of HMI and PLC interaction with robots and cell functions.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for robot issues and electrical issues. (wire stick, minor alarms, blown fuses and sensor issues on tooling.)
- Capable sending individuals on the road to finish open issue lists and install tooling changes using prints and work together with controls group to finish jobs abroad without supervision.
- Basic programming of material handling and spot-welding robots using grippers and spot guns.Capable of shimming tools to customer gages and can interpret CMM data to make adjustments to tooling.
- Maintain a skills inventory score indicative of a level II or higher technician
- Willing to travel up to 40% of the time to customer sites
- Maintain a skills inventory score indicative of a level I or higher technician
Requirements
- High school or GED
- Vocational High School or Technical College or Equivalent Experience.
- 2-3 years’ workable experience as a Robot Technician
- RIA certified (Basic robot technician)
- Intermediate robot knowledge of 1 type of robot and at least 1 type of welder. (Lincoln Power supply recommended)
