About the role
- The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) plays a pivotal role in strengthening the financial management and strategic decision-making capabilities of the organization.
- This position oversees global budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, ensuring effective use of resources to deliver on LftW’s mission.
- This role is responsible for monitoring performance, engaging and developing the FP&A team.
- Lead and develop the team by recruiting, onboarding, setting clear goals, managing performance, and coaching for growth.
- Foster a collaborative, service-oriented team culture that promotes continuous learning and accountability.
- Ensure effective role clarity and resource utilization so the team can perform efficiently and in alignment with organizational needs.
- Lead strategic financial planning , including annual budgeting and multi-year financial plans aligned with MAAP and funding strategies.
- Provide financial leadership and insights to support strategic objectives, long-term sustainability, and programmatic impact.
- Partner with senior leadership and national members on scenario planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Deliver high-quality financial analysis and reporting to senior management, governance bodies, and national members.
- Monitor organizational financial health , including liquidity, reserves, funding trends, and cost efficiency.
- Act as a trusted financial advisor , translating data into actionable insights and supporting major strategic decisions.
- Strengthen systems, processes, and governance by improving financial tools, data integrity, and continuous improvement across planning and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s, MBA, or CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in leading FP&A or similar functions in an iNGO or complex international organization.
- Proven experience with multi-currency, multi-country budgeting and financial consolidation.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial insights into strategic recommendations.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, ideally with experience managing teams across regions or time zones.
- Proficiency in financial planning and analysis systems (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Power BI, or similar tools) and advanced Excel skills.
