About the role
- Identification, analysis, assessment and documentation of component changes and discontinuations.
- Conducting component research and developing countermeasures and recommended actions.
- Facilitating and leading obsolescence meetings and deriving technical and economic measures.
- Preparing technical reports and specifications for internal stakeholders.
- Supporting shortage coordination for procurement issues.
- Enhancing our obsolescence tool to monitor components, manufacturer information and lifecycle forecasts.
- Analyzing component data to ensure long-term component availability.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or a comparable qualification.
- Professional experience in obsolescence management, electronics development, technical purchasing or product lifecycle management is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of technical components, bill-of-material (BOM) structures and product lifecycles.
- Analytical mindset with a structured and proactive working style.
- Experience using ERP and PLM systems as well as common office applications.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to present complex technical issues clearly.
- Good written and spoken German and English.
