About the role
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of clients' physical therapy needs.
- Create individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and collaborative discussions with clients and caregivers.
- Implement therapy interventions using evidence-based practices to enhance clients' functional capabilities.
- Monitor clients' progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide education and training to clients and families regarding therapeutic exercises and strategies to promote physical health.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Document all therapy services accurately and in compliance with agency policies and regulatory standards.
- Provide high-quality physical therapy services to individuals with developmental disabilities to improve mobility, strength, and independence.
Requirements
- Doctorate or master’s degree in physical therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current California licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to develop comprehensive care plans for diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Preferred: 1-3 years of experience as a Physical Therapist in clinical or community settings.
- Preferred: Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
- Preferred: Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
- Preferred: Experience in community-based service delivery.
