About the role
- Conducts assessments to identify speech and language difficulties, develops personalized treatment plans, and provides therapy to individuals of all ages to improve communication skills.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to address speech and language challenges and enhance overall communication abilities for social, academic, and professional success.
- Develops individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient goals.
- Conducts comprehensive assessments to evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in patients.
- Designs therapy interventions and activities to address speech and language difficulties, enhance communication skills, and improve swallowing abilities.
- Applies in-depth knowledge of various therapeutic approaches, such as articulation therapy, language stimulation, fluency therapy, and voice therapy, to develop therapy plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
- Under general supervision, educates patients and their families about speech and language disorders, therapy techniques, and strategies for improving communication skills.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Contributes to clinical research, outcome measurement studies, and evidence-based practices to advance the field of speech therapy.
- Improves job knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Communicates effectively with internal teams by sharing professional knowledge and coaching individuals in industry best practices and innovative counseling techniques.
