About the role

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the engineering site
  • Develop and maintain a safe and productive work environment
  • Manage site/departmental budgets and support proposal preparation
  • Recruit, mentor, and train top talent
  • Lead and manage a collaborative multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Act as the primary point of contact for engineering-related matters
  • Establish mechanisms to collect feedback and continuously improve team processes
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and ensure the team has access to the latest tools and training

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Software) or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in a leadership role managing direct reports and multiple engineering functions
  • Experience working in rapid prototyping and within the DoD industrial base
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of electrical, mechanical, systems, and/or software engineering principles
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time
