About the role
- Establish a culture of innovation within DRS Quality teams championing the deployment of superior processes
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and programs to enforce quality standards and enhance product reliability
- Mentor and inspire a team of quality professionals to achieve excellence
- Lead internal Quality communication programs and processes
- Lead APEX opportunities across the Quality function and LOB driving improvements in processes
- Identify systematic problems and coordinate corrective actions
- Bring all compliance issues to the attention of management
- Lead and develop our Quality Management System (QMS)
- Perform direct coordination with customer and suppliers during early planning phases of development and production programs
- Act as Lead Auditor and conduct internal company audits including management of corrective action process
- Manage budget and department expenses
- Develop and review quality assurance cost estimates in support of proposal efforts
- Assist in the development and approval of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a related technical field
- minimum of 7 years of experience
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills
- Passion for precision, safety, and operational excellence
- Ability to lead effective corrective action using disciplined problem solving methods and statistical analysis
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 Standards
- ISO Lead Auditor experience desired; certification preferred
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification desired
- ASQ certification desired
- U.S. Citizenship required
