About the role
- Define and maintain the technical architecture vision for a multiple impact level system.
- Work closely with external customers to understand mission objectives, technology constraints, and long-term goals.
- Translate these into strategic technology roadmap.
- Guide and mentor development teams, ensuring consistency in development practices and alignment with the technical vision.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with business and customer strategies.
- Partner with product owners, engineering leads, and program managers to prioritize capabilities, manage trade-offs, and ensure technical feasibility.
- Design and oversee cloud-native architecture in AWS focused on serverless technologies for scalability and flexibility.
- Define and enforce software engineering standards, architectural review processes, and documentation practices across teams.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. and 15 years of experience in a Science, Engineering, or Technology field.
- US Citizenship; Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact at multiple levels of the organization.
- Ability to mentor, lead, and promote talent.
- Proven success managing software strategy across multiple customers or programs.
- Ability to translate design and architecture into tasks for software development tasking.
- Deep experience with AWS cloud platforms and designing scalable, distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience working directly with product owners and managing competing priorities across large teams.
