About the role
- Independently lead project teams to complete engineering design of various sized electric infrastructure projects for electric utilities
- Accept responsibility for overall project performance and reporting
- Manage project costs, schedule and scope within approved limits, including the development of recovery plans when needed
- Ensure contract compliance
- Drive work products by coordinating and working with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables
- Ensure and document adherence to the quality control process
- Interface directly with the client and internal management to solve issues and report progress, costs, schedule adherence and risks across a program of projects
- Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel
- Prepare bid documents; Develop cost estimates and responses to Requests for Proposal
- Complete monthly invoices, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames
- Identify business development opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline is required
- A minimum of five (5) + years of relevant Project Management experience
- Familiarity with the electric power industry and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services
- Demonstrated experience understanding, planning, managing and reporting project financial performance, budgets, proposals, scopes and schedules
- Must have the capability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on project tasks
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task effectively
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, P6)
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
