About the role

  • Serve as the senior technical authority for integrated aerostat systems delivered under the program\n
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams including Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Radar, SIGINT, Communications, Software, cybersecurity, and integration/test engineers\n
  • Ensure alignment of the technical baseline with U.S. Army and end customer mission objectives, capability documents, and interface requirements\n
  • Manage the system architecture and technical configuration across multiple systems and geographic locations\n
  • Drive system-level analysis, risk assessments, and design decisions that impact performance, schedule, and cost\n
  • Coordinate with government engineering leads, site operational support teams, logistics elements, and operational users\n
  • Represent the program at all major technical reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR) and milestone events\n
  • Oversee the development of program artifacts including the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) model, verification plans, logistics data products and cybersecurity compliance documentation (RMF)\n
  • Support developmental and operational test planning with the U.S. Army, end customer and other stakeholders\n
  • Provide guidance and contribute to working groups, configuration control boards, risk management boards, and readiness assessments\n
  • Maintains technical project budget accountability and reports engineering costs to Program Management\n
  • Communicates with U.S. Government (USG) customers, subcontractors and vendors and other external constituents as required, influences stakeholders and decision makers on policies, practices and procedures\n
  • Leads, directs and reviews the work of a matrixed engineering team and the work of subcontractor teams\n
  • Maintains operational oversight of program engineering staff and Sensor Integration Lab\n
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, procedures and products\n
  • And all other duties as required to ensure responsiveness of the program

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and 8+ years prior relevant experience or master’s with 6+ years prior relevant experience and 4+ years’ experience supervising or leading teams or projects\n
  • Possess a fully adjudicated active DoD Secret clearance or higher with ability to maintain\n
  • Experience leading complex projects and providing direction for all phases of the Systems Development Lifecycle including design, integration, testing, deployment and sustainment of mission systems\n
  • Expert in solutioning airborne SIGINT and Radar sensing systems, communications systems and tactical data links for U.S. Government customers including experience working with Army Airborne ISR systems\n
  • Ability to direct and oversee development of project test plans and procedures; manage test planning and airborne flight test execution\n
  • Proficient in Root Cause Analysis of product discrepancies during testing and sustainment and determining appropriate resolution\n
  • Expert in selecting, developing, modifying, integrating, and evaluating sensors, rack mounted equipment and electrical components for airborne ISR systems\n
  • Travel requirement 25% to support one-on-one and Stakeholder meetings and surge travel to support integration and installation or test events\n
  • Be able to obtain a passport to travel internationally
