About the role
- Convert graphics, dashboards, alarms and integrations into Ignition Perspective
- Assist in the migration of HMI/SCADA applications from Iconics to Ignition Perspective
- Develop and configure Ignition Perspective dashboards, graphics, alarms and messages ensuring mobile-friendly, intuitive operator interfaces
- Translate existing Iconics functionality into Ignition while maintaining or improving usability and performance
- Review PLC logic, primarily with Allen-Bradley systems, to determine how best to display equipment values and states
- Ensure seamless integration with field devices, databases, and third-party systems using protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus and OPC
- Support commissioning, testing, and validation of the migrated system
- Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer; collaborate closely with control engineers and technicians
Requirements
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience with Ignition Perspective platform development
- Hands-on experience with Iconics HMI/SCADA applications (for migration purposes)
- Strong understanding of PLC programming, preferably with Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
- Proven track record of successful system migrations or large-scale automation projects
- Oil & Gas experience is a must
- SQL database and scripting experience (Python within Ignition) (nice to have)
- Familiarity with ISA standards for HMI/SCADA design (nice to have)
- Ignition certification (Gold/Certified Developer) (nice to have)
- Ability to review PLC logic and translate equipment states into mobile-friendly operator interfaces
- Experience producing clear technical documentation and performing knowledge transfer
