About the role
- Install, configure, support, and deploy Windows server and desktop operating systems.
- Ensure security and performance of Windows systems, including virus updates, patches, and performance tuning.
- Manage and support MSSQL databases and Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS).
- Administer VM clusters and virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware).
- Use Data Protection Manager and PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and manage backups.
- Manage Group Policy, WSUS, and enterprise update/patch processes.
- Work on-site in Dulles/Chantilly, VA supporting government IT infrastructure; likely require TS/SCI with polygraph.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with Windows systems engineering and administration, including MSSQL databases, Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), VM clusters, Hyper-V, Data Protection Manager, and PowerShell scripting.
- Strong Windows Administrator experience installing, configuring, supporting, and deploying Windows operating systems and ensuring security and performance.
- Experience working with both physical and virtual servers, including virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with Windows Server operating systems (Server 2016, Server 2019, Server 2022) and Windows desktop OS (Windows 10, Windows 11).
- Experience with Microsoft Group Policy Management and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
- Experience with virus updates, patch management, and performance tuning.
