About the role
- Own and evolve a product (or product area) used by multiple clients, countries, and tenants, ensuring a clear vision and roadmap aligned to business and client needs.
- Balance global product consistency with local market and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for product outcomes and value delivery.
- Own, maintain, and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring it is transparent, well-refined, and aligned with strategic objectives.
- Make adaptive & informed decisions to support changing business needs & priorities.
- Work closely with engineering teams to plan and deliver work through regular sprint cycles.
- Utilise effective tooling, time management and organisational skills to implement an Agile based delivery approach.
- Gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
- Translate requirements into clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Define and continuously improve end-to-end customer and user journeys across the platform.
- Support development teams throughout delivery, including sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and release activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, QA, Professional Services, Project management, Service Delivery) to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Engage with group clients to understand their needs, challenges, and feedback, and incorporate these into the product roadmap.
- Clearly communicate priorities, progress, and decisions to stakeholders at all levels.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to enhance product processing, decision-making, efficiency, or user experience.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in AI and financial services technology.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Product Owner (or similar role) in a software development or financial services environment.
- Strong experience owning and managing product backlogs in an Agile / Scrum environment.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience working with complex products that support multiple clients, configurations, or markets.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end customer journeys and user-centred design principles.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Experience using agile tools (JIRA, Confluence, Slack or similar).
- Desirable:
- Experience within financial services, fintech, finance origination/onboarding, or regulated software environments.
- Exposure to multi-country or multi-regulatory product delivery.
- Experience working with SaaS, multi-tenant platforms, or configurable products.
- Interest or hands-on experience in applying AI or machine learning within software products.
- Familiarity with data-driven product development and performance metrics.
