About the role
- Prepare, review, and issue client invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor accounts receivable, track outstanding balances, and follow up with clients on overdue payments.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding billing inquiries, payment plans, and account status, always with professionalism and empathy.
- Process payments, maintain detailed records, and reconcile accounts regularly.
- Partner with attorneys and staff to resolve billing discrepancies or adjustments.
- Provide regular reports on collections status and accounts receivable trends to firm leadership.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, confidentiality standards, and applicable regulations.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in billing, collections, or accounting (law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive financial conversations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in billing/accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, client-service mindset with a problem-solving attitude.
