About the role

  • Developing and delivering data analysis initiatives, including data modeling, financial forecasting, reporting, visualizations, and ad hoc research to support financial decision‑making
  • Designing and maintaining data visualizations using Tableau and Power BI, and applying storytelling techniques to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights that meet business needs
  • Performing complex data analysis and financial forecasting to derive actionable insights, while ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness
  • Applying an understanding of financial data to proactively identify opportunities where enhanced analytics can add significant value to the organization
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, particularly the Financial Insights & Consulting (FIC) team, to develop detailed requirements for data projects and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Advocating for the adoption of dashboards and predictive models by demonstrating their value in data‑driven decision‑making and strategic planning
  • Working closely with firm management, senior leadership, and various departments, including the FIC team, to support data‑driven initiatives and optimize reporting tools
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, economics, finance, or a related field, preferably
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience with Structured Query Language (SQL), data visualization, complex data analysis, and financial data analysis
  • Proven experience with Tableau, Power BI, and other data visualization tools
  • Possess strong knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and proficiency in Tableau and Power BI, including the use of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for complex calculations, measures, and analytical modelling, along with familiarity with Python and other programming languages
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform complex data analysis and financial forecasting, and to derive actionable insights
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey data findings and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
