About the role
- Responsible for the purchasing of goods and services from approved suppliers
- Support the development of the purchasing function to advance department or organizational goals
- Day-to-day resolution of stakeholder and supplier issues
- Incorporate sourcing, contracting, and supplier management principles into daily work activities
- Gather necessary information to complete sourcing events (spot buys)
- Support negotiations, contracting, supplier implementation, and management activities
- Purchase assigned items, supplies, and materials or services according to policies
- Assist with projects at manager's direction
- Document and resolve supplier quality and performance problems using KPIs
- Assist customs brokers with data accuracy and compliance
- Identify and implement cost improvement projects
- Assist procurement resources with category or supplier issues
- Forecasting, invoice reconciliation, and goods receipts support
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent related experience or training
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or related field
- 3+ years in working in a supply chain or manufacturing firm preferred
- Ability to leverage computer software programs, specifically SAP or a comparable ERP solution, in addition to office productivity tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects
- Ability to influence management and build teams
- Ability to work independently and as a team player, be organized, and plan ahead
- Ability to maintain, develop, and execute departmental vision
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly while also leading and teaching others
- Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Lamb Weston Driving Standards
- Ability to travel up to 10%
