About the role

  • Labcorp is a premier global life sciences company providing clinical laboratory services, diagnostics, drug development, and technology-driven solutions
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure and services on AWS focusing on security, scalability, and efficiency
  • Use Account Factory to provision and administer AWS accounts within AWS Control Tower landing zones
  • Configure and oversee AWS Config for evaluating, auditing, and managing AWS resource configurations
  • Deploy and sustain AWS Security Hub, AWS Guard Duty, and AWS Resilience Hub for continuous security monitoring and resilience planning
  • Oversee AWS Identity Center for centralized account access and identity management
  • Setup AWS Firewall Manager for centralized management of firewall policies
  • Apply FinOps principles to optimize cloud spending and ensure financial accountability
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to architect scalable software services and enforce system security
  • Address system issues across platform and application domains and recommend process and architecture improvements
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and evaluate vendor products for suitability
  • Hybrid role requiring a minimum of three in-office days at Burlington, NC or Durham, NC

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an AWS Cloud Engineer or similar role
  • Prior experience working at Labcorp preferred
  • Proficient in AWS services, including Account Factory, AWS Config, AWS Control Tower, AWS Security Hub, AWS Guard Duty, AWS Resilience Hub, AWS Identity Center, and AWS Firewall Manager
  • Familiarity with FinOps practices and principles
  • Expertise in cloud security solutions and best practices
  • Strong scripting language proficiency (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security Specialty) preferred
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
