About the role
- Ensure all production activities support L3Harris business and are carried out in accordance with company policy and accepted standards of practice
- Facilitate the daily operations of the assigned manufacturing production lines
- Oversee production activities on first shift
- Coach and resolve issues
- Lead and/or facilitate Lean/Continuous Improvement efforts and projects
- Enforce performance against key metrics including the 6S Program, on time delivery, production levels, down time, and the integrity of the buffer system
- Monitor production yields and manage daily/weekly failure trends throughout all processes
- Serve as an employer advocate, promoting the company image and addressing concerns
- Communicate and enforce safety regulations and requirements
- Ensure proper handling of components/materials to prevent damage
- Consult manufacturing engineers on questions of proper handling
- Review and enforce the use and maintenance of work instructions, routers, logs, scrap tickets, training matrix, calibration requirements, and company procedures
- Keep detailed records of personnel and provide periodic feedback for subordinates, including recognition for strengths and opportunities for improvements
- Write and present annual performance reviews
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
- Experience in mechanical assembly operations
- Experience in potting and encapsulation processes (preferred)
- Experience with fiber termination and splicing (preferred)
- Background in Electrical and/or Testing (preferred)
- Proficiency using Microsoft products (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Lean Six Sigma certifications (preferred)
- Understanding of and experience working with root cause problem solving methodologies
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and measurement systems
