About the role
- Provide tactical direction to the Assembly operation area to support the needs of the business
- Day-to-day direction for work assignments of staff
- Ensure staffing has adequate skillset for current and future business needs
- Ensure all special process certifications and required training is up to date at all times
- Provide administrative support for direct reports to ensure they have the tools necessary to complete their jobs
- Partner with support organizations to maintain flow of hardware across the assembly floor
- Set tone and culture for the area to align with the overall goals of operations
- Provide input for program planning for current or future business
- Provide input and closely monitoring of established area budget
- Support implementation of improvements in the area that are consistent with business needs, company initiatives, and capital investments for the area
- Ensure communication and teamwork with 1st shift Manager and personnel
- Complete special assignments as directed by Sr. Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities of the assigned organization
- Experience in leading teams building flight/space flight hardware is a plus
