About the role
- Ability to understand Quality Mission Assurance, Quality Management Systems, Product Conformity, Configuration Management Principles, Control of Nonconforming Material, and Product Acceptance in relation to Engine Assembly and Testing operations.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand product requirements.
- Verify compliance to engineering drawings, specifications, or other product definitions in order to review, release, and approve work instructions/procedures.
- Ability to lead and perform root cause analyses to prevent recurrence of non-conformances or unwanted events with preventive and corrective actions.
- Ability to analyze and compile data using process control statistics to determine and improve process capability and product quality.
- Ability to develop and perform process audits.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement activities.
- Travel to Kennedy Space Center to support RS-25 engine integration activities required occasionally.
- 2nd shift coverage required occasionally.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S+1.
- Adhere to all safety requirements, processes, and procedures.
- Must work well independently and in a teaming environment.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, great attention to detail, and be able to develop and maintain great customer relationships.
- Must be familiar with MS Office and web databased applications.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical degree.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- Familiarity with Product/Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
- Experience in aerospace or aviation manufacturing/maintenance or similar industry
- Experience with production/manufacturing requirements of human-rated products (NASA Technical Requirements for Human-Rating or Airworthiness)
- Familiarity with QMS requirements of AS9100 Aerospace Standard
