About the role
- Support strategic programs essential to maintaining U.S. Armed Forces’ readiness
- Provide technical support for product design and process development
- Document manufacturing processes, procedures, and layouts for mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical assemblies
- Support programs through operator training, process issue resolution, and monitoring and evaluating existing operations
- Assist in the development of methods, processes, tools, jigs, fixtures, etc.
- Write work instructions, production routings, and validation plans
- Lead the set-up and validation of new production lines
- Provide technical expertise and support related to operations and manufacturing engineering
- Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations
- Submit and manage tool room work order requests
- Review product designs for manufacturability and completeness
- Train production personnel in new or existing operations
- Prepare reports and white papers summarizing information or trends related to manufacturing performance
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of work experience related to fabrication or assembly
- Must be able to obtain a US Security Clearance
- Experience in the defense or aerospace industry preferred
- Experience with pressing, staking, riveting, swaging, potting, electronics soldering, conformal coating, packaging, X-ray inspection, laser welding, robotics, and control systems preferred
- Experience with ANSI J-STD-001, AS9100, and ANSI Y14.5 preferred
- Experience with SolidEdge and Minitab preferred
