About the role
- Drive continuous improvement with the company’s supply base
- Develop and strengthen processes that will reduce defects, receiving inspections, and company risk
- Drive for quick resolution and responses for Verifications of Supplier Non-Conformances (N/C’s)
- Ensure Supplier Corrective Action Requests (8 D’s) have robust containment and permanent corrective actions to prevent future N/Cs
- Travel to Suppliers as needed to support the above activities
- Communicate to facilitate and enhance supplier relations
- Coach on Quality Systems Improvements
- Conduct Supplier On-Site evaluations
- Provide management summary/status reports
Requirements
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, ISO 9000 and Military standards
- Supplier certification review
- Dimensional inspection methodology
- Experience with GD&T
- Use of APQP tools to prevent rejections and reduce risk
- Identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months
