About the role
- The Field Engineering Specialist will be responsible for performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems in accordance with applicable technical data.
- Towing and positioning aircraft.
- Flying with the aircraft to provide off station maintenance support.
- Remove and install aircraft avionics, hydraulic components, landing gear, tires, and struts.
- Performing engine removals and installations.
- Checking for work correctness.
- Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action in accordance with applicable aircraft maintenance manuals.
- Implements preventive maintenance programs.
- Documents performance and maintenance records on aircraft and equipment.
- Willing and able to lift, bend, and climb.
- Required travel to CONUS and OCONUS.
- Daily interface with customers at numerous levels.
- Use, understand, and interpret a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals to engineering drawings.
- Ability to work alone or within a group.
- Able to work extended hours and weekends when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of experience performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems.
- Graduate Degree with two (2) years of experience performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of experience performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems.
- Must have a valid A&P License.
- Must be able to pass FAA Class III flight physical and complete altitude chamber training within the first 3-6 months.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Must have an active Secret DoD Clearance at the time of hire.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
