About the role

  • Serves as the Product Owner and liaison between the customer and the development team
  • Responsible for setting the vision for the product and for prioritizing and accepting the work generated by the team
  • Communicates customer requirements and feature requests to the software development team
  • Works closely with Systems Engineers, Solution Architects and software engineering teams
  • Partners directly with Program Managers to effectively track product delivery
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a Release Plan
  • Interfaces directly with customers, stakeholders and vendors
  • Ensures an operational Software Integration Laboratory (SIL) is maintained to support iterative development and test
  • Builds effective working relationships across the team and organization
  • Leads software development teams in day-to-day product development activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology or business related field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Graduate Degree in a technology or business related field and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
  • Experience working as a Business Analyst, Engineer or experience with Department of Defense customers, hardware and software integration, or installation/maintenance of avionics systems
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Proven background of delivering quality requirements and seeing deliverables through to completion
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
  • Good critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Good customer relations skills and the ability to build relationships
  • Capable of effective time management
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and strong reasoning skills as well as good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly proficient grammatical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and assignments
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to utilize multiple desktop publishing and still-image editing programs
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of requirements of engineering practices for solicitation of information and derivation of requirements
