About the role
- Support a variety of wafer fabrication tools and processes
- Perform data analysis for development and production work
- Identify process issues and process optimization opportunities
- Perform root cause analysis and drive mitigation strategies
- Perform qualification activities for new processes and tools
- Provide sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area
- Regular interactions with equipment vendors, operations management, equipment maintenance and development engineering teams
- Develop, optimize, and own production processes using advanced semiconductor techniques (photolithography, etching, deposition, diffusion, bonding)
- Utilize and support MES for operations management, tracking, and monitoring
- Qualify, set up, and operate semiconductor wafer equipment for III-V semiconductor manufacturing
- Monitor and manage Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Fault Detection Control (FDC)
- Design and execute complex Design of Experiments (DOEs) and verify new tools and processes
- Lead root cause investigations for process and equipment issues
- Drive initiatives to enhance manufacturing quality, capabilities, and process robustness
- Develop and maintain detailed process, equipment, and operational documentation
- Lead cross-functional teams (Process, Product, Quality and Operations) for process and product improvements and mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Ensure a safe and organized work environment, complying with ISO/ANSI safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
- At least 4 years of experience as a Process Engineer in the semiconductor industry
- At least 4 years of experience in statistical data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for process optimization and control
- Certified to work a Class 100 cleanroom or fabrication facility
- 2 years experience in implementing methodologies such as FMEA, DOE, and root cause/corrective action analysis.
